Þverbrekka is an abandoned farm in North Iceland, close to Akureyri, located on the west side of the river, once the home of Víga-Glúmur from the Saga times. Above the farm stands Þverbrekkuhnjúkur, one of the highest and most rugged mountains in the area, reaching an elevation of 1,142 meters. At the top of this peak, there is a cairn with a guest book for visitors. Nestled above some small hills on the mountain’s side is Þverbrekkuvatn, a small, serene lake that adds to the area’s natural beauty.

This was my first time recording with a piezo contact microphone, and I was very surprised by the effect. The funniest part of the recording was when a fly hit the microphone!
