I am often asked what the polar night sounds like. For me in Iceland, the darker the louder. In winter, the frequency of storms, not only snowstorms, increases significantly. They occur almost every week. Their frequency and strength is increasing year by year, possibly one of the effects of climate change. I recorded this sound in front of my apartment on a stormy night, the gusts of wind could reach 80 kilometers per hour.
